WR Jerry Jeudy leaves practice with hamstring injury

Denver Broncos' starting wide receiver Jerry Jeudy sustained a hamstring injury during a practice session and is scheduled to undergo an MRI, as confirmed by Head Coach Sean Payton. The injury occurred during a joint training camp practice with the Los Angeles Rams. Jeudy has been a significant contributor to the team's receiving yards, leading in two of the past three seasons, including a performance of 972 receiving yards and six touchdowns in 2022. He also secured a touchdown against the Cardinals in the Broncos' preseason opener.

Coach Payton refrained from speculating on the impact of Jeudy's hamstring injury until the MRI results are available. He expressed hope that the injury isn't severe and emphasized that the team frequently rotates receivers in their system. Jeudy is known to play multiple roles within the team's offense, such as the 'Z' position and the sub position.

Offensive Coordinator Joe Lombardi echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that injuries are unfortunate but a reality in sports. He mentioned that other receivers on the team might need to step up and take on more prominent roles in the offense. Notably, other wide receivers on the team, like Tim Patrick and Jalen Virgil, have also previously suffered season-ending injuries.
