Arleen Sorkin, renowned for her iconic role as the original voice of Harley Quinn across the animated DC Universe, has passed away at the age of 67. James Gunn, co-head of DC, confirmed the sad news in an Instagram post paying tribute to Sorkin.

Sorkin's career began in 1982 when she appeared as a background actor on Saturday Night Live. She went on to star in various television shows such as "Duet" (1987), "Open House" (1989), "Dream On" (1990), and "Perry Mason: The Case of the Killer Kiss." However, her most memorable role came in 1992 when she started voicing the character Harley Quinn in "Batman: The Animated Series." She continued to lend her voice to Harley Quinn in various other animated shows like "Superman: The Animated Series," "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker," "Gotham Girls," "Justice League," and "Static Shock." She also voiced the character in DC video games like "Batman: Arkham Asylum," "DC Universe Online," and "DC Universe Online: The Last Laugh."

Mark Hamill, who is known for his portrayal of the Joker in the same animated series and shared many scenes with Sorkin's Harley Quinn, expressed his condolences on social media, describing Sorkin as not just a talented individual but also a wonderful person and a dear friend. Sorkin's work as the original voice of Harley Quinn left an indelible mark on popular culture and endeared her to fans around the world
