Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee is making his debut in the professional realm during the preseason, but he's not letting the excitement get to his head. To stay grounded and connected to his dreams, McKee utilized a straightforward reminder.
In the recent match against the Cleveland Browns, which concluded in an 18-18 deadlock, McKee was seen sporting a black Nike t-shirt on the sidelines. Following the game, when McKee addressed the media, he was still clad in the same t-shirt. When inquired about his sartorial choice, McKee disclosed the heartfelt significance behind donning the shirt.
"I've had this shirt since my high school days. It's a constant reminder of living out my dream. Just being out there on the field. I could be anywhere else working, but I have the privilege of playing football for a living. Yeah, this shirt means a lot to me," shared McKee.
During the game itself, while suited up in his uniform, McKee played an instrumental role in the Eagles' draw against the Browns. Taking charge of the second half, the Stanford graduate played a crucial role in engineering a comeback during the fourth quarter. He played a pivotal part in the Eagles' resurgence, erasing an 18-10 deficit with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Brady Russell. McKee further cemented the comeback by linking up with receiver Johnny King for a two-point conversion that knotted the score.
Although McKee is projected to see limited action in regular season games, unless significant injuries befall Jalen Hurts and Marcus Mariota, he will once again have an opportunity to actualize his dream on August 24th as the Eagles prepare to welcome the Indianapolis Colts at the Lincoln Financial Field.
