Suspended Former Colts CB Isaiah Rodgers Joins Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed former Indianapolis Colts cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, who was suspended due to gambling policy violations. The Eagles placed Rodgers on the reserve/suspended list upon his signing.

Isaiah Rodgers, aged 25, was released by the Colts in June after the NFL suspended him indefinitely for violating their gambling policies. Sources revealed that Rodgers placed over 100 bets through an online sportsbook account, including at least one wager on a game involving the Colts. Most of the bets were in the $25 to $50 range, and some were encouraged by Rodgers' friends in Florida, where legal sports betting was not available at the time. The largest wager he made was a $1,000 prop bet on the over/under on rushing yards by a Colts running back, which he won.

The NFL's investigation did not uncover any evidence of game manipulation related to Rodgers' gambling activity. He publicly took "full responsibility" for his actions on social media in June.

As per the terms of his suspension, Rodgers will not be able to join the Eagles until his suspension is lifted. He will be eligible to petition for reinstatement at the end of the 2023 season. During his time with the Colts, Rodgers contributed with three interceptions and ten passes defensed across three seasons, also serving as a kick and punt returner.
