Serena Williams Gives Birth to Baby Girl, Welcoming Second Child with Husband

Renowned tennis icon Serena Williams has joyfully embraced the arrival of her second child, a daughter, as announced by her husband on social media.

"Introducing Adira River Ohanian," shared Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian, on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, during the afternoon of Tuesday.

Ohanian expressed gratitude for the abundance of love in their household, welcoming a joyful and healthy newborn girl, and an equally content and healthy mother. He conveyed his deep appreciation for Williams, aged 41, referring to her as the "GMOAT," an acronym signifying the "Greatest Mother of All Time."

Accompanying his message were snapshots of Williams radiating happiness while cradling her newborn, joined by Ohanian and their 5-year-old daughter, Olympia.

In his post, he expressed his gratitude to the remarkable medical team responsible for the well-being of his wife and their newborn daughter. He recounted the memorable moment when he introduced Olympia to her new baby sister, sharing, "@olympiaohanian to her baby sister."

Ohanian concluded with a verse excerpted from the Book of Isaiah: “Your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea.”

Last August, Williams revealed her intentions to step away from professional tennis and prioritize the growth of her family through an essay in Vogue. In her writing, she expressed her discomfort with the term "retirement," opting for "evolution" to characterize her path forward.

Williams asserted, "In the present times, if I must choose between enhancing my tennis achievements and nurturing my family, I opt for the latter."
