Guardiola reveals Silva's injury adds to Man City's troubles

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, expressed concern about his team's situation, stating that they are facing difficulties, particularly with the recent injury to Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Silva, who recently extended his contract with the club until 2026, had to leave the field before halftime during City's 3-1 home victory against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League opener on Tuesday. This injury adds to an already lengthy list of injured players for City, including Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Jack Grealish, and Mateo Kovacic.

Guardiola mentioned, "He (Silva) didn't say anything at the end. I didn't speak with the doctors, but it appears that he won't be available for the upcoming games."

Despite being the Premier League leaders, City is facing a challenging situation with so many key players sidelined simultaneously. Guardiola acknowledged the difficulty, saying, "We are in trouble, but I'm not going to say we have a lot of injuries. When we have five highly important players dealing with injuries, sustaining this over an extended period will be challenging. However, we have to deal with the situation as it is."
