Charlize Theron Declares She Will Never 'Gain 40 Pounds' for a Role Again You Can't Take It Off: Startling Revelation Shakes Society

Charlize Theron has decided to retire from accepting roles that require extreme body transformations.

The star of "Fast X" revealed to Allure that she will no longer commit to changing her body drastically for movie roles, citing the challenges of reversing such transformations as she ages. Theron mentioned that in her earlier years, she could easily lose weight gained for a role, like when she portrayed Aileen Wuornos in "Monster" back in 2003. However, with advancing age, shedding the excess weight she gained for roles became increasingly difficult. She experienced this firsthand when she gained 50 pounds for her role in the 2018 dramedy "Tully."

Theron expressed that at 43, she struggled to lose the weight she had gained for "Tully," and her metabolism had slowed down significantly. The actress spoke about facing difficulties like depression while transforming into characters who required different body types. For instance, in "Tully," where she portrayed an exhausted mother of three, she gained close to 50 pounds. Theron confessed that the initial excitement of indulging in excess food eventually turned into a challenge to maintain that weight.

The process of losing the additional weight she gained for "Tully" took Theron a year and a half, and she referred to it as a "very long journey." She discussed the complexities of attending press junkets and red carpet events during that time, where people speculated about prosthetics due to her physical changes.

Theron also mentioned other aspects of aging in the entertainment industry. As she's now 48 years old, she expressed that recovery from injuries sustained on action movie sets takes longer compared to her younger days. Despite the challenges, Theron has continued to be a prominent figure in action films, like "Mad Max: Fury Road" and "Atomic Blonde," though she admitted that she wishes she still had the resilience of her 25-year-old body.
